Science 7: Today we went over the information on The Particle Model of Matter and then started to look at bit deeper at what this model is all about. For homework students are to write out the Particle Model of Matter and then create a drawing to match each of the 5 points to the model. The Particle Model of Matter is written out below for those who did not get it all written down in class.

Science 8: Today we went over Mechanical Advantage. We started looking at how to use the equations for MA. All equations are to be completed for class tomorrow.

The Particle Model of Matter
1. All substances are made of tiny particles.
2. All particles in a pure substance are the same. different pure substances are made of different particles.
3. The particles have spaces between them.
4. The particles are always in motion - vibrating, rotating, and (in liquids and gases) moving from place to place. The speed of the particles increases/decreases when the temperature increases/decreases.
5. The particles in a substance are attracted to one another. The strength of the attractive force depends on the type of particle.

Dear Mrs. Kamphuis,

During the lesson today you said that there were five points but you only put four up.
