Science 7: Today we began topic 1. We talked a bit about the different ways of classifying structures and then students did a couple worksheets. Both worksheets are due for tomorrow.
Unit Title Page also due to be handed in tomorrow.
Please have parents look over and sign Field Trip forms and have them returned to the school as soon as possible. Also, please don't forget to ask your parents if they would be interested in volunteering for our field trip(s). Have them come into the school to fill out paper work as soon as possible because it takes 6 weeks to process it all (our first field trip is in 6 weeks!!).
Science 8: We watched a cool video today called "Microscope and its Incredible World" - some very interesting things to be viewed under the microscope!!!!
We began working on Calculating Magnification - students have 2 sheets due for tomorrow. THERE WILL BE A HOMEWORK CHECK, so be prepared!
BONUS MARKS (Grade 7 & 8): bring in one newspaper article tomorrow that discusses the advances of science. Article must be from a Canadian newspaper and must be within the last 5 days (Sept 19th - the earliest). Feel free to bring in a printed copy from the computer if you find an article on-line. These bonus marks are valid for tomorrow's class only (i.e. if you bring me an article on Wednesday or later it won't count!)
